This textile panel was inspired by the poetry of Taras Melnychuk, a Ukrainian poet from his collection “The Dew Prince”.
Seven different hand embroidery techniques were employed to create this piece including: satin stitch (гладь), running stitch (протяганка), chain stitch (ретязь), nightingale/Algerian) eye (солов’їні вічка), drawn thread work (вишивка по мережці), beading (вишивка бісером), appliqué (аплікація) and the artist’s own technique.
